Epilepsy A condition characterized by recurrent seizures that are caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Seizures can occur for many reasons, including damage to the brain due to infection, injury, birth trauma, tumor, stroke, drug intoxication, and chemical imbalance. Epilepsy is usually treated with antiepileptic drugs to control the seizures.
